Elite Automotive Services in Lake Forest, CA, recently presented a fully-repaired truck to its owner, after the truck was hit by several bullets during a mass shooting at her workplace in August.
Savannah Hopkins, who was five months pregnant at the time of the shooting, was working at Cook’s Corner, a bar in Trabuco Canyon, on Aug. 23, when a man walked in with a gun and started shooting, according to KABC Television in Los Angeles.
Hopkins ran out the back door of the bar to her truck and tried to take cover in it, but the man came outside and shot through her truck at other people running for cover. She said one bullet passed right over her head. The truck was further damaged by more gunfire exchanged between the man and law enforcement.
Elite Automotive Services co-owner Ziad Traieh said his team spent 150 hours repairing the truck, which was returned to Hopkins on Dec. 14, less than a month before her due date of Jan. 6.
