The MSO Symposium, an annual one-day conference created by and for multi-shop owners and operators, was among the events Oct. 31 kicking off SEMA week in Las Vegas.

Bart Mazurek, vice president of consulting services for CCC Intelligent Solutions' automotive services group, offered a look at the “long tail of the pandemic,” noting claims and vehicle miles traveled have significantly rebounded from the spring of 2020, but still remain lower, in part because morning commute traffic congestion in major markets is still down as much as 50%.

Vincent Romans of The Romans Group consulting firm also offered his annual assessment of the consolidation trend in the collision repair industry, saying the increased interest from private equity in the industry fueling consolidation “is not going to stop, not going to go away” any time soon.

A complete summary of the MSO Symposium will be featured in the December 2022 issue of Autobody News.
