The United Motor Vehicle Coalition of California (UVMCC) is organizing a Unification Rally at 10 a.m. May 21 on the steps of the State Capitol Building in Sacramento, CA, to protest the state's ban on sales of new gas-powered cars by 2035.

The UVMCC said the rally will be "fighting the state mandates and executive orders aimed at banning fuel-burning vehicles, and the all-electric vehicle agenda, which will have a major impact on every aspect of the auto industry and on every citizen who didn’t have a voice, or a choice."

Between 6,000 and 8,000 people are expected to attend, the UVMCC said.

This will be the first Unification Rally since 2014. It will bring together motorcycle and automobile owners and operators, dealerships, manufacturers, parts and repair shop owners and others to make their voices heard.

The Unification model, as demonstrated by the motorcycle communities, has proven to be a successful campaigning ally, having played a key role in the passing of legislation such as legalizing lane splitting, motorcycle anti-profiling and ending motorcycle-only checkpoints.

Rally organizers believe by aligning themselves with the consumer base, manufacturers and aftermarket parts and service industries associated with motorcycles, automobiles, trucks, farm equipment, the refineries and internal combustion engine powered products, they become a collective force, with common issues that lawmakers will have no choice but to come to the table and work with, on solutions that reflect having the best interest of the people, rather than the self-serving financially and politically motivated agendas that seemingly have become the norm.
