The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) welcomes UK-based Static Solutions, which operates in the U.S. as Pro-Stat, as the newest corporate member of the association.

Parent company Static Solutions has been manufacturing the market-leading Stat-Gun for nearly two decades. The company strives to expand its efforts to educate collision repair professionals on the causes, detrimental effects and solutions to static electricity in spray booth environments.

"Last year we partnered with Dan-Am Company to significantly increase our market presence across the U.S.," said Glen Aaron, founder and president of Static Solutions. "As part of the expansion initiative, we felt it was important for our customers to see our increased support of the industry through a relationship with SCRS. We believe both the Dan-Am and SCRS partnership align with values that have been core to our company. We share a focus on providing best-in-class products and services and place a priority on meeting the highest standards of performance, safety and customer experience. We want to relate to organizations that the industry places value and trust in, and SCRS is a perfect fit."

"We have been using Pro-Stat for many years," said Barry Dorn, SCRS past chairman and vice president of Dorn’s Body & Paint. "The gun drastically cut down on airborne contaminants and has reduced the amount of denib and buffing operations we need to perform, especially during the summer and fall months."

The new Pro Stat-Gun (green model) demonstrates Static Solutions' commitment to raising the bar on safety, and now carries Class 1/Division 1 Certification for North America, to comply with National Fire Protection Association and OSHA regulations.

"Another shared focus between Pro-Stat and SCRS is our desire to lift up educational facilities that are helping to develop entry-level talent for the collision repair industry," added Aaron. "We took note of initiatives like SCRS’ equipment giveaways to trade schools, and we want to have similarly meaningful impact. Over the next year, we will be supporting schools and colleges across the U.S. with free products and small, reduced fees for annual training and recertification. It’s important to us that refinish students learn the vital safety implications of static, and how to remove it. This was also part of our motive in becoming an I-CAR sustaining partner."

"It's always exciting to see companies lead by example," said SCRS Chair Amber Alley. "I think what is special about SCRS is that it draws out those individuals and companies who really wish to do good and give back. I think the synergies we have with organizations like Pro-Stat are phenomenal, and the collective effect we can have together on students and schools, and in-shop education around safety and quality are exactly what I love about our association’s relationship to the best of the best in the industry. We are grateful for their involvement and look forward to leveraging that relationship to create lasting impact."
