The 2022 SEMA Show continued Nov. 3 with another full day of product demonstrations, celebrity appearances and educational sessions.
The Show closes Nov. 4.
SCRS OEM Summit
The Society of Collision Repair Specialists continued its Repairer Driven Education series with its three-session OEM Summit.
The first session brought together OEM representatives and repairers to discuss the availability of OEM repair information and why it’s important for all repairers---not just those connected to dealerships---to access it and use it every time they repair a vehicle.
The second session, led by Eliza Johnson of Ducker Carlisle, a market research company, explored data related to the technician shortage crisis, as well as solutions.
Finally, in the third session, Chris Chesney of Repairify presented the results of a study the company did, using multiple aftermarket scan tools to compare how well they performed compared to factory tools.
Chesney was joined by OEM representatives.
A complete summary of the OEM Summit will appear in the December 2022 issue of Autobody News.

Additional program features will include a mentorship support program that tracks progress of learned new skills and a Proof of Skill concept that ensures every student can demonstrate mastery of the skills they’ve learned to perform safe and proper repairs.
