The dealership group's annual campaign has now raised $2.6 million for the American Heart Association since 2014.
Sheehy Auto Stores' "Sheehy Has Heart" annual campaign raised $341,476 for the American Heart Association this year, promoting heart-healthy living across multiple states.
This year's fundraising spanned Sheehy's dealerships in Washington, D.C., Richmond, VA, and Baltimore and Hagerstown, MD. Since its inception in 2014, the "Sheehy Has Heart" initiative has cumulatively amassed $2,649,150.
"For more than a decade, our collaboration with the American Heart Association has given us the opportunity to support a worthy cause while reinforcing the importance of maintaining heart health," said Vince Sheehy, president of Sheehy Auto Stores.
The campaign's success extends beyond mere fundraising. Each participating dealership and its team members actively engaged in heart-healthy activities. These included participating in National Walking Day in April, where they clocked a combined total of 853,344 steps---equivalent to walking from the Washington Monument to Times Square in New York City and back. Additionally, the teams learned the latest in CPR administration and hosted community events to demonstrate CPR techniques.
The partnership also involved Sheehy's sponsorship of #MoveMoreDC, which commenced on National Walking Day. This initiative challenged companies and individuals to record their daily steps, fostering a culture of physical activity and heart health awareness.
Sheehy Auto Stores also actively supports local events like the Greater Washington Region Heart Walk, the Lawyers Have Heart 10K, 5K and Fun Walk, and the Go Red for Women campaign.
The American Heart Association, a leading source of health information for nearly a century, continues its mission for a world of longer, healthier lives. With a network of millions of volunteers and numerous collaborations, the organization is a driving force in advocating for public health and sharing lifesaving resources.
